The Tungabhadra river dam gates were opened on a Saturday evening, the 10th of August due to the heavy inflow of water at Hosapete. The river water flooded the entire campsite of PTU. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The PTU trekkers along with a lot of other folks were stranded with rescue operations continuing late into Monday as well. When the rescue boat was capsized, the rest of the folks had to be airlifted.
